Notes on Autumn 2017 programme


Welcome to the Autumn programme. We hope you enjoy it. It includes details of our 25th anniversary celebrations.  There is a good range of walks including waterfalls, geology, industrial history, folk history, castles and not least our wonderful countryside. There are also interesting talks at The Bear, Crickhowell most months.

B.B.P.S. 25th Anniversary.

An evening dinner has been booked at the Castle Hotel in Brecon with Roy Noble as an after dinner speaker. The date is September 16th – 7.00 for 7.30pm.

25th ANNIVERSARY TALK: Roaming through the Park with a Camera.
13th September, 7.30pm.  The Bear, Crickhowell.
Founder member of the Society, Chris Barber MBE, will be giving a richly illustrated talk to mark the 25th anniversary of the Brecon Beacons Park Society.  His lecture will include Anecdotes, History, Legends, Landscape and beautiful photography.

Navigation Courses

The “Get Lost ” and “Get Lost Again” navigation course is now run by Rob Pritchard. Open to all members they are fantastic ways to improve your hill navigation. Details at the back of the walks programme. Book now! Spaces are limited 

Self Guided Walks. Kevin McAnulty has now entered walks on our website of original Wednesday Wanders. The directions are there – try them.

Crickhowell Walking Festival Autumn Extra 2017
Friday 29th September – Sunday 1st October.

All walking members – please carry a card in the top of your rucksack giving your emergency contact and details of any medication you take/need. Also if you have a mobile phone enter an emergency contact under the name ICE (emergency services will always look for this)
