Meet Abergavenny bus station GR SO 301140 Map OL 13 in time to catch the 10am X43 bus to Crickhowell. A linear walk back to Abergavenny by way of Sugar Loaf and The Deri, although the weather and conditions underfoot will determine the exact route and the total amount of ascent. Well behaved dogs allowed only with prior arrangement with the leader. Please ring before leaving if weather conditions poor.

Meet at the Craig Cerrig Gleisiad car park on the A470 north of Storey Arms GR SN 972222. A classic winter walk with splendid views in good weather. The route, subject to weather conditions, will be via Craig Cerrig Gleisiad,Fan Frynach, Fan Llia, Ystradfeltllte Reservoir and Fan Fawr. This is an ambitious walk for the time of year, and will be taken at a brisk pace to complete the route in daylight.

Meet at the top end of Oxford Road Car Park, Hay-on-Wye ( fee paying ) GR SO 230422 OS Map OL 13. Climb up and through Mouse Castle Wood, continue onto the Old Chapel located In the hamlet of Priory Wood, and then return to Hay using the Wye Valley Walk Path. Meet at Llangynidr Car Park GR SO 155195 OS Map OL13. Down to canal and along to the Usk bridge. Follow riverside path for 2km then head up to an interesting area of quarries and cairns at Waun Llech and Chwar Blaenonneu. Continue to the 541m trig point then a bit of cross country to pick up a return path via Pant Llwyd.

Meet at Pont Cadwgan car park, GR SO 266250, OS Map OL13 We make a gradual ascent through forest then open country to Crug Mawr then descend on the Beacons Way to Partrishow with its delightful church. We then cross the Grwyne Fawr to ascend to Y Gaer then follow the ridge to Bal Bach, finally descending across open moorland and through a wooded valley to Pont Cadwgan. (This is a development of a 2016 walk but without the lane walking!)
