Over two successive summers, Charles & Helen Henderson hiked along the famous GR10, crossing the Pyrenees from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean. Using a specialist French company to arrange accommodation and transport, they stayed in a mixture of small hotels, mountain refuges and gites. Photographic highlights include stunning mountain views, historic pilgrim churches and the unique Pyrenean flora. This is an eminently do-able hike for BBPS members, so come and be tempted!

Dhaulagiri is the seventh highest peak in the world, first climbed in 1960.  This is the story of a trek around the mountain with a climb to a 20,000 foot summit on one of the neighbouring peaks.  The expedition was led by Park Society member Allan Gibbs in October last year.  There are no tea houses on this route and it was an eventful trip with several helicopter evacuations!

When did Welsh come to be?  How do you say that and what does it mean?  If you want a potted history of the Welsh language, learn how to get your tongue around some of those names on the OS map and discover their wonderfully descriptive meanings, I will try to put you right in this introduction to the Welsh language.  Croeso i chi gyd (Welcome to you all) but be prepared to have a go at saying it in Welsh.
