The John Muir Trail And The Cambrian Way
Wednesday 12th July
Bear Hotel Crickhowell
Geoff Williams
Roger White
Geoff Williams, who is one of our founder members, will be giving an illustrated talk on two great hikes: the John Muir Trail and the Cambrian Way. Geoff will describe how he backpacked along the John Muir trail which crosses the mountain wilderness of California; it is named after John Muir who was a driving force in the creation of National Parks.  Back home, as a contrast, he will describe hiking the Cambrian Way which was pioneered by Tony Drake and is being walked by some of our members this summer; it is a long distance route through some of the highest, wildest and most scenically beautiful parts of Wales.  Geoff will also tell us about the roles of the John Muir Trust and the Cambrian Way Trust
